With All The Many Miracles

by Rodney Griffin

God gave a bold command
To cross the Jordan and claim the land
Not to worry about the giants they would face
But when the spies returned
To tell the others what they had learned
They said, “For us to win, there’s just no way.”

Still, two of them trusted God
Caleb and Joshua
They said, “Children, don’t believe what you have heard.
We know we’re out-manned by far
And they’re much bigger than we are
But let’s not forget just who it is we serve.”

With all the many miracles,
Why don’t you think it’s possible?
With all the many things we’ve seen,
Why do you think it’s just a dream?
With all the things He’s done for us,
Don’t you think it’s time we trust?
Remember what is possible
With all the many miracles.

Like when we were about to die
Manna fell from the sky
And water came from a dry old dusty rock
And back when Pharaoh was closing in
God closed the sea again
But not before we all had safely crossed.

So, here you are, my friend
You face a battle you cannot win
And you tell yourself, “There’s just no need to try”
Consider how good God’s been
He’s been faithful time and again
You must believe and here’s the reason why.

With all the many miracles,
Why don’t you think it’s possible?
With all the many things we’ve seen,
Why do you think it’s just a dream?
With all the things He’s done for us,
Don’t you think it’s time we trust?
Remember what is possible
With all the many miracles

I have heard this song many times in the last several weeks. I have been challenged as I have looked at the past that God has brought me through, the unknown future that lies ahead, and the present that is today. Each new day is a miracle in and of itself. But even each moment that we breathe another breath of air is a miracle. There are so many miracles, little or big, in our lives, that we so often fail to recognize them. They are so vast that they cannot be numbered.
  • a new day
  • life and breath
  • health
  • family
  • friends
  • safety  throughout the day
  • sound mind
  • eyesight
  • hearing
  • and much, much more

This list hasn’t even made a dent in the many, many miracles that surround us each day. Everyday events that, in reality, are miracles. At any moment, the Lord could choose to remove that miracle, that blessing, from our lives.  But I know for myself, why too often I take these miracles for granted – it’s something we have always had. But at any moment, it could be taken from us. So why is it then that we say miracles do not happen in our days…I know for me, it is because I often forget the everyday miracles that take place in my life.

So take the time to step back and look at the miracles that surround you each and every day.

Blessings till the next time!
